Animal Cognition is actively committed to 2001-02-01 This research takes our knowledge about the mechanisms underlying animal cognition and uses it to solve real-world problems. Kant is explicit that animals possess no faculty of understanding and so no cognition of objects, but, according to M&A's reading, are still able to track, discriminate, and respond to objects in their environment by means of objective, singular perceptual representations that represent their environment.

Brain and Cognition 72, nr 1 (Feb. and the Enduring Consequences of Stressors in Adolescence in Animal Models. 5 Animals Famous for their Intelligence Posted in: General Tags: language, problem solving. Over the past half-century, the field of animal cognition research has grown tremendously. This ever-increasing interest in both the scientific and public spheres has allowed a spotlight to fall on animals who […] But animal cognition research is just as interested in research on worms, honeybees, snakes, stickleback fish, chickadees, and spiders, though there remains quite a bit of cognition research on the behaviorist standbys of pigeons and rats. Animal Cognition is an interdisciplinary journal offering current research from many disciplines (ethology, behavioral ecology, animal behavior and learning, cognitive sciences, comparative psychology and evolutionary psychology) on all aspects of animal (and human) cognition in an evolutionary framework. Research Overview We are interested in understanding the evolution of complex cognitive abilities in animals, in investigating what animals know about their social and ecological environments, and in asking how animals use this knowledge and their ability to learn about their environments in adaptive ways.

When a purportedly human property is attributed to an animal without prior methodologically sound investigation of this sort, that attribution is considered anthropomorphic. In the current debate about the role of anthropomorphism in animal cognition research, some Animal Cognition is a Transformative Journal (TJ).
